_ [Windows] Windows XP Pro (Japanese) on VMware Workstation 6.0.4 running on Windows XP Pro (English)

メインで使ってるlaptop (英語版Windows XP Pro w/ SP2)上に日本語環境が欲しい(英語版のWindowsでも日本語の読み書きはできるけど、文字化けしちゃうアプリが結構多いから)ので、日本語版Windows XPをVM上で動かせばいいやと思ってインストール…しようと起動したら、

Stop: c0000221 Unknown Hard Error
    \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll

と出てきてインストールできず。試しに、1つ余ってる英語版Windows XP Proのライセンスがあるので、こいつを使って起動するとちゃんとインストールが継続される。日本語版Windows XPのライセンスは1つしか持ってないから、このCDが悪いのかどうかがわからん…。
